1121 Wednesday March 2nd All of the committee present except ?, Dudley, Hill, Sargent, and Wentworth Testimony of Miles W. Leighton Sworn By Mr. Lakin Q. Have you been in the service of the hospital? A. Yes sir Q. About how long? A. Between 8 and 9 years Q. When did you close your connection there? A. Last May Q. What duty did you preform while in the hospital service? A. The first year I was there I was porter, and about 6 years I was meat cook. After that I was porter again. Q. During those 6 years had you the principal charge of cooking the meats? A. Yes sir Q. What was the quality of the raw meats that came into your hands to be cooked? A. They were good I never knew them to be otherwise. Q. Don't remember where you had a case of any kind coming into your hands that was poor meat to be prepared for food? A. No sir, Whenever there was any poor that came I was told to reject it Q. Were you responsible for this? A. Yes sir
