1140 A. (cont.) cow raised on the farm, or had been there 6 or 7 years to my knowledge. Q. When she was led out to slaughter she looked well? A. Yes sir. Q. When you came to open the carcass you found it was not? A. I found her liver was affected badly, and also the lungs. Q. Did the meat change in condition or color? A. No sir it did not. Q. Meat looked good? A. Yes sir Q. You reported that? A. I did Q. What was done about it? A. She was put into the compost heap. Q. Relate the forth case? A. Similar case to that the animal looked well before it was slaughtered. It was raised on the farm and in good order, and looked as if it would make good beef. When it as opened trouble was found with it and it was reported and put in the compost heap, all four of the cases. Q. And they didn't become food for any patient at the hospital? A. No sir Q. Have you also butchered some swine?
