1138 A.(cont) I slaughtered was when I was a farmhand, There seemed to be some difficulty with the beef and I didn't consider it fit to eat. I reported it and it was not eaten. It was put in the compost heap after I reported it. Q. What was the general appearance of that animal before you knocked it down? A. It was good. You could not detect any trouble at all, a good healthy smooth steer, about 4 years old I should say. Q. That was before any knowledge of the hospital affairs? A. That was about 13 years ago Q Whether that animal had been owned on the hospital farm or not? A. He had been there about 2 days.
