1131 Q.(cont.) to make a whole dinner for 300? A. For a roast it would take somewhere around 300 pounds. Q. How many pounds are there in a barrel of pork? A. 200 about in a barrel of salt pork. Q. Did you ever have pork steak for breakfast? A. Not to go through the whole house. We did not have meat for dinner everyday Q. Yu would have fresh meat once a week and salt beef once a week. Now would you have meat at any other time during the week for dinner? A. Sometimes, not very often, one day we would have soup and sometimes meat soup and sometimes peas or beans, something of that kind. Two days we have fish, During the winter season we usually had oysters or clams once a week which were steamed. I have no idea how much pork we used in the winter. By Mr. Ham As far as we are concerned I don't think we claim that the food was not good enough. I don't make any handle of it
