By Dr. Butler: I say that diarrhae often becomes an exciting cause of miscarriage, and that a small dose of oil or rhubarb, given many times in mild or even in severe diarrhae, will produce a favorable result.

By Mr. Baker: Q. You have had considerable experience in practice have you not A. I have been in practice 36 years. Q. And in the midst of an extensive practice to day are you not A. Yes, more or less. Q. Whether from your experience it might be a frequent occurrence, with proper medical skill or the fact of a medical exam, would not discover, without attention being called to the [illegible] and a digital examination, the condition of a patient in which is one is said to have been before the delivery of the foetus in the state of advancement that has been [illegible] A. I should expect to determine it by digital examination
