1107 A.(cont.) explained. Q. Did Mr. Sampson seem to be angry at Sweeny? A. He appeared to be Q. Had Sweeny used up quite a number of shovels that way? A. Yes sir Q. What did Sweeny do when Mr. Sampson did this? A. He merely went about his work in the coal shed Q, Did he inflict any injury on him? A. I never examined him, so I could not say Q. Did you say anything to Mr. Sampson about it? A. I did not Q. Did you report the fact to anybody? A. I did not Q. If you thought Sweeny was being seriously injured would you have allowed it to go on without interfering? A. I guess if you were in my position at the Insane Hospital, you would not find it well for you to report Mr. Sampson if you wanted to stay there. Q. Repeated A. If I wanted to leave the institution without giving enough notice. I should probably interfere. Q. Do you mean you would have been discharged? A. I believe I would have been discharged before a month if I had reported, he would watch one day and night to get a chance to report me.
