Saturday, February 11th, 1837 [double underscored] 195.

On motion of Mr. Ham, Ordered that Dr. Charles T. Jackson, Geologist of the State, be requested to deliver a course of Lectures on Geology, in presence of the Governor and Council and the two branches of the Legislature in the Representative's Hall at such times as may suit his convenience during the present session of the Legislature. - read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

A communication was received from A. R. Nichols, Secretary of the Board of Internal Improvements, submitting the First Report of Dr. Charles T. Jackson on the Geology of Maine, and ordered on motion of Mr. Ham, that the Secretary of State be directed to procure the printing of 5000 copies of said Report, on a plan similar to that of Professor Hitchcock of a like survey of Massachusetts. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Mildram, from the Committee on Interior Waters to which was recommitted the Bill to incorporate the Vassalborough and Sidney Dam Company reported that said Bill ought not to pass and said Report on motion of Mr. Severance, was laid upon the table.
