of Augusta, Allen of Bangor, Cook of Waldoborough, Appleton of Portland and Judkins of Houlton are joined. Which Committee, having attended to the duties assigned them, reported that the Governor elect was pleased to say that he accepted the office and would for the with meet the two Houses in the Representatives Hall for the purpose of being qualified according to the Constitution.

On motion of Mr Benson. Ordered, that a message the sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a convention of both Branches of the Legislature in the Representatives Hall, forthwith, for the purpose of qualifying the Governor elect - which message was delivered by the Secretary.

A message was received that the House concurred in the foregoing proposition.

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in convention in the Representative Hall. Mr Vance of Readfield was charged with a message to the Governor, elect, informing him that the two Houses of the Legislature have met in convention and are now ready to administer to him the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to discharge the duties dissolving upon him as Gov-
