State of Maine.

Augusta. Wednesday, January 4. 1837.

This being the day designated by the Constitution of this State for the meeting of the Legislature thereof, the following Gentlemen having been elected by the People and summoned by the Governor and Council, appeared in the Senate Chamber, to wit: Mr Elijah Robinson, Fourth District -"- Josiah Staples, Fifth -"- -"- John R Redman, Sixth -"- -"- Tristram Redman, Seventh -"- -"- John C. Talbot, Eighth -"- Messrs. Jonathan Burr, Ebenezer Higgins Ninth -"-

The convention was called to order by Mr. Staples, on motion of whom, Mr. Robinson took the Chair.
