Bill to authorize the collection of interest on Executions was, on motion of Mr. Johnson, taken up and a passage refused, of which the House was informed by message and their concurrence requested.
Bill to change the name of Bloomfield was taken up and indefinitely postponed. Sent down for concurrence. Adjourned

Bill to incorporate the Mechanics Bank was, on motion of Mr. Fish, taken up, he Senate recede from their vote of the 23d inst passing the same to be engrossed and concur with the House in refusing the same a passage.
The Joint Select Committee on Compromise appointed to inquire what new Banks and increase of Capital of Banks ought to be granted from among the number now pending before the Legislature, made a report extending the amount to $1,725, 000 and recommending that this sum should be granted by the following distribution, to wit: County of York $25,000; Cumberland $375,000; Lincoln $200,000; Hancock $50,000; Somerset $ 75,000; Penobscot 400,000 and Waldo County $150,000. And the question of accepting said report in concurrence with the House, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit. Yeas. Messrs.
