Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Showhegan Bank, (on petition of said Bank, severally read once, and tomorrow ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
The same gentleman, from the same Committee, reported leave to withdraw on petition of H.H. Johnson, and others, Philip Morrill and others, Asa Piper and others, Rufus Dwinell and others, Columbus Burrill and others, R.K. Rice, and Samuel Lunt and others; and legislation inexpedient on the following orders, to wit relative to increasing the tax on Banks --- relative to the limitation of paper discounted on Banks -- relative to the amount of stock held by individuals -- relative to the liabilities of Directors --- relative to the return of Stock holders names -- read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
The same gentleman, from the same Committee, reported leave to withdraw on petition of Benjamin Libbey and others --- and the same, on motion of Mr. Benson, was laid upon the table.
The same gentleman, from the same Committee reported that said Committee, having attended to all the business referred to them and reported thereon, requested to be discharged -- read, and the same, on motion of Mr. Fish, was laid upon the table.
