368 Bill prohibiting the emissions and circulation of Bank Bills of the small denomination and certain others was taken up, -- and the question of adopting the amendment proposed yesterday by Mr. Merrow to strike out in the first section the words, "Passage of this Act." and insert in lieu thereof the words, first day of June next, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit Yeas [underlined] Messrs. Allen, Benson, Frye, Johnson, Mantor, McIntire, Merrow, Robinson, Severance, Spear, Strickland, Swift and Weeks ----- 13 Nays [underline] Messrs Clark, Fish, Greene, Jarvis, Jewett, Kelsey, Latham, Miller, Pierce, Purington, Staples and Talbot _____12 And the question of passing the same to be engrossed , as amended, was decided in the affirmative by yeas and nays, as follows, to wit. Bill to incorporate with Mattanawcook Rail Road Corporation (reported by Mr. Clark, from the committee on Rail Roads and Canals, on petition of Josiah Towle and others) was read once and ordered, on motion of Mr. Fish, that three hundred copies of the same be printed for the use of the Legislature.
