Petition of M. F. Kimball & others of Rumford; -"- of William Lindsey and others of Harrison; -"- of Levi Patch and others of Otisfield; -"- of Moses H. Treadwell and others of Waterford, in aid of the petition of Moses Mason Jr. and others for a Charter to construct a Canal from the Androscoggin waters to Sebago Pond - severally read and referred to the Committee on Canals and Rail Roads in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committe [Committee] on the Judiciary to inquire what alteration, if any, is necessary in the law respecting the assessment of taxes on the real estate of resident proprietors - read and passed in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of providing by law that any person, resident in this State may be permitted to change his or her name (as the case may be) by notifying in the State Paper and in some paper in the County where he or she resides, and files a certificate with the City, town or plantation Clerk where he or she resides of his or her intention so to do: said notice to be given four successive weeks in said papers previously to his right to make such change, - read and passed in concurrence.
