Isle, Ames of Hermon & Gerray of Waterford be a committee, whose duty it shall be to Report to this House the names of such members as shall be absent from this House more than three days without. leave and the reason of such absence.

Remonstrance of James Emerson & others against the abolition of Capital Punishment - was read & referred to the Committee on that subject. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Henry Davidson & others for aid in constructing Highways was read & referred to the delegation from Waldo on the part of the House with such as the Senate may join. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on engrossed Bills, reported as duly engrossed Bills - An Act repealing an act entitled an act to prevent frauds in the Inspection of Fish - An Act to incorporate the Wells Mutual Fire Insurance Company - were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence

On motion by Mr Davis of Mt Vernon, Ordered That the Committee on Finance be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing that the tax on Banks hereafter incorporated and all additional capital hereafter granted, shall be appropriated to defray the expenses of the State. Sent up for concurrence

On motion by Mr Emery of Saco Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of enacting a law empowering the purchase of real estate, which shall be found to be encumbered by mortgage, by deed
