The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolves - for the benefit of the town of Kilnamock - - authoring the Treasurer to receive the fourth instalment due from Nehemiah Leavitt which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

The same Committee reported as truly engrossed Bill - An Act to authorize the collection of interest on Executions - which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - An additional act to protect towns from Fire, was reported with amendments which were adopted & then on motion of Mr. Lake of Bucksport the Bill was indefinitely postponed. Sent up for concurrence

On motion by Mr Isle of Frankfort Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing by Law - that any person resident in this State may be permitted to change his or her name as the case may be, by notifying in the State Paper and in some paper in the County where he or she lives and files a certificate with the City, Town or Plantation Clerk where he lives of his or her intention so to do: said notice to be given four successive weeks in said papers previous to his or her right to make such change. Sent up for concurrence.

Report on the petition of William Freeman & others referring the same to the Committee on Interior Waters, was read & accepted in concurrence.
