50. On motion by Mr. Brown of East Machias Ordered, That the joint standing Committee on Banks & Banking be instructed to enquire into the expediency of so altering or amending an act passed March 21st 1835 entitled an Act to regulate Banks by prohibiting the emission and circulation of Bank Bills or Notes of a small denomination; so that all persons and corporations who shall pass or offer to pass any of the Bills therein prohibited shall be subject to the same penalties and forfeitures, which persons & corporations are now liable by said act for receiving said Bills.
On motion by Mr Hobbs of Eastport Ordered That the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of enlarging the Equity powers of the Supreme Judicial Court. Sent up for concurrence.
On motion by Mr Lippencot of Columbia Ordered that the delegation of the County of Washington in the House with such as the Senate may join be a committee to enquire into the expediency of providing by law for the use of Broad rimmed wheels in said County. Sent up for concurrence.
On motion by Mr Allen of Bangor, Ordered, That the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by law for limited Partnerships. Sent up for concurrence.
Mr Stone of Brunswick from the Committee to whom the subject was yesterday referred Reported Bill - creating the Village of Brunswick into a corporation for certain purposes, which was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d Readg.
