49. on Banks & Banking - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the raising of Silkworms for the Manufacture of Silk to Messrs McIntire, Swift & Robinson with such as the House may join. The House concurred & joined Messrs Tobin of Hartford, Merry of Edgecomb, Cogswell of Berwick, Cushing of Augusta, Meservy of Appleton, Leighton of Eliot & Hasty of Kilmarnock.

An order came from the Senate referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the Insane Hospital - to the indigent Blind and to the Deaf & Dumb to Messrs Jewett, Johnson & Merrow with such as the House may join. The House concurred and joined Messr. Deane of Biddeford, Burrell of Cape Elizabeth, Bradford of Livermore, Scamman of Pittston, Baker of Steuben, Means of Sedgwick & Sargent of Plantation No one.

An order came from the Senate referring so much of said Message as relates to a Geological Survey to Messrs Greene, Purinton & Benson with such as the House may join. The House concurred and Messrs Comstock of Lubec, Holmes of Winthrop, Stone of Brunswick, Marden of Palermo, Farley of New Castle & Coburn of Newry & Smith of Palmyra were joined.

Mr. Holmes of Alfred laid upon the table Bill - An Act to regulate the execution of the Punishment of Death, which was read 1st & 2d time & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.
