23. Monday January 11th 1836

Met according to adjournment.

The Speaker laid before the House a communication from the Treasurer of State transmitting a printed detailed Report of the State of the Finances conformably to the requirement of an Act, passed 30th Jany 1822 which was read and ordered to be laid upon the table.

The Standing Committees of the House were nominated by the Speaker and appointed by the House and are as follows - to wit: On leave of absence. Messrs Emery of Montville Bradford Friendship Burr Argyle Boothbay Embden Sprattt China Baker Steuben Barrows Burnham On Finance Messrs Steward of Anson Dillingham Turner Hamlen Hampden Cushing Augusta Lord Kennebunk Waite Falmouth Reynolds Garland On change of Names Messrs Tiffany of Sidney Foster " Amherst Leishman Boothbay On County Estimates. Messrs Sturdivant of Cumberland Mildram " Wells
