Bill in addition to "an act to exempt from taxation Manufacturing Companies of Cotton, Wool, Iron and Steel for limited times, reported by Mr. Smith from the Committee on Manufactures, on the petition of the Directors of the Portland Manufacturing Company , was read once and tomorrow at eleven o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Petition of Calvin Selden and others, " of L.W. Lithgow and others, " of sundry inhabitants of Pittsfield, " " of Fairfield, " " of New Portland, " " of Palmyra, " " of Bloomfield for a Dam across the Kennebec River at Augusta, Remonstrance of Selectmen of Bath, " of the town of Woolwich against the same, were severally read & referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration in concurrence.
