The report of the Committee on Incorporation of Towns to which was referred the petition of Nathan Stanley and others, came up the House having reconsidered their vote accepting said report and ordered that the same be recommitted. The Senate reconsider their vote accepting said report and recommit the same in concurrence.
Report of the Warden of the Maine State Prison read and referred to the Committee on the State Prison in concurrence.
Mr. Bradbury from the Committee on State Roads to which was referred an order instructing them to inquire into the expediency of making an appropriation for the repair of the Canada Road, reported that about eighteen miles of said road from the forks of the Kennebec River to the north line of the Bingham Kennebec Purchase is now in a very bad condition and almost impassable for carriages and that an appropriation for the repair of said road north of said Bingham Purchase is unnecessary and inexpedient. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.
Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Winslow Bridge " to establish the Reed School Fund. " additional to increase the salary of Judge of Probate for the County of Penobscot, Bill to incorporate the Sluiceway Company, " additional to increase the salary of the Register of Probate in the County of Somerset, Resolve in favor of Willard Snell, severally read a second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.
