Monday, January 20, 1834  Bill to incorporate the town of Barnard came up from the House recommitted. The Senate reconsider their vote passing the same to be engrossed and recommit said bill, in concurrence.
Remonstrance of Selectmen of Chesterville against a new County,
" of the town of New Sharon against petition of inhabitants of Farmington for a new County " of inhabitants of Chesterville against that town being included within a new County. Severally read and referred to the Committee on Division and alteration of Counties, in concurrence.
Petition of Jesse Rowell, to extend the time for building the Damariscotta Canal,
" of J.C. Churchill and others for incorporation of Portland Steam Boat Company, severally read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives, appointing Messrs Jarvis of Ellsworth, McCrate of Nobleboro' Pierce of Portland, Bronson of Anson, Allen of Lubec, Moore of Dover, Dumont of Hallowell, Woodman of Buxton, Bolster of Rumford and True of Montville, a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to inquire into the expediency of passing Resolutions, expressive of the sentiments of this Legislature, as to the removal of the public deposits from the Bank of the United States, came up for concurrence; read, and on motion of Mr Pierce amended by adding after United States; "Also to inquire into the expediency of re-chartering the United States Bank", and the same was passed as thus amended, and Messrs Rogers, Cogswell, Pierce, Groton and Emmons are joined.
