Petition of Cummings, Paine and others for an act of incorporation to improve the navigation in the Penobscot River, " of Benjamin Nickerson and others for leave to build a bridge, " of Peter Grant and others to be incorporated with powers to establish and maintain a Horse Ferry Boat in the town of Hallowell, " of Edmund Howe and others, to be incorporated into a Company for the purpose of removing obstructions in Namahanta River, " of Mark S. Blunt and others for a Charter to build a Bridge across the Kennebec River at Norridgwock, were severally read and with the accompanying papers, referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Order from the House of Representatives appointing Messrs. Bolster of Rumford, Kimball of Gilead, Lawrence of Gray, Thompson of Bridgton and Moore of Dover a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to consider what alteration, if any, are necessary, in the several laws now in force providing for the education of youth, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, came up for concurrence. Concurred, and Messrs. Cobb, Frye and Farnham are joined.
