Continuation of the afternoon session of Wednesday 13th January 1830

[Committee to receive, sort & count votes for Secretary]

[1st. Ballot]

An motion by Mr Kingsbery, a Committee consisting of Messrs. Gardner, Meqquier and Davee was appointed to receive, sort and count the votes for a Secretary the Committee having attended to that service reported; That the whole number of votes was - "Sixteen;" Necessary to a choice ---- "Nine" That John A. Chandler had --- Eight "- Carleton Dole ---- Eight No Choice.

[2d. Ballot]

2d ballot The whole number of votes was "sixteen" Necessary to a choice --- "Nine" John A. Chandler had --- "Eight" No choice.

[3d Ballot]

3d ballet: The whole number of votes was "Sixteen" Necessary to a choice ---- "Nine" John A. Chandler had --- Eight Carleton Dole --- Six Samuel K. Gilman ---- Two No choice.

[4th. Ballot]

4th ballot: The whole number of votes was "Sixteen" Necessary to a choice ---- "Nine" John A. Chandler had ---- Eight Carleton Dole ---- Seven Samuel K. Gilman One No choice
