Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of empowering School Districts to assess upon themselves, a sum additional, to their proportion of the monies raised, by their respective towns, for the support of Schools, to be applied to the purposes of mutual instruction, provided, that such additional sum shall not exceed their quota of money raised, by the town - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill incorporate the Methodist Meeting House Corporation in Bangor, was called up & refused a passage in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill to cede to the United States the jurisdiction of certain tracts of land in Saco & Biddeford, was read a second time & amended, and tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a third reading.

Bill to incorporate the Penobscot Mill Dam Corporation was reported with sundry amendments which were adopted read a 2nd time & Tuesday, next at ten oclock assigned for a third reading immediately the House reconsidered their last vote and assigned tomorrow at 10 oclock for a third reading of said Bill-
Resolve providing for the choice of Electors of President and Vice President, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
