Remonstrances of Eliot Staples + als against the petition of Fisk + Bridge, was read + referred in concurrence with the Senate to the committee on Canals, Turnpikes + Bridges.

On motion of Mr Mitchell of Freeport, Ordered that Messrs Mitchell of Freeport, White of Monmouth + Hodgman of Warren be a committee with such as the Senate may join to inquire as far as practicable what fur ther business will come before this Legislature, and when the same may have a recess - read + passed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Vance of Baring Ordered that Messrs Vance of Baring, Moore of Steuben + Labarce of Whitfield be a committee with such as the Senate may join, to inquire into the expediency of altering or amending an act to incorporate the Schoodic River Log Company with leave to report + - read + passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill authorizing Judges of Probate, in certain cases to appoint Guardians to married women, was read a third time + passed to be engrossed as amended at A. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill additional to an act entitled an act directing the method of laying out and making provision for the repair + amendment of Highways, was called up, amended and then on motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro, indefinitely postponed.
