Ordered that the committee on Interior Fisheries be requested to take into consideration the expediency of altering the law en titled an act to regulate the taking of fish in Dyers river passed February 7th 1822 with leave +c read + passed Sent up for concurrence.
On motion of Mr Jewett of Bowdoinham, Ordered, that the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, inquire into the expediency of repealing a law granting liberty to Samuel Gray + others to build a free bridge over Cat hance river, or passing an act in addition to said act authorizing the towns of Bowdoinham & Topsham to repair + build said Bridge. read + passed. Sent up for concurrence.
On motion of Mr Jewett of Bowdoinham, Ordered, that the committee who have under consid eration the subject relative to Sheriffs, also take into consider ation the expediency of establishing salaries for the Register of Deeds in the several Counties, + of said Registers rendering a true account of fees by them received. read + passed. Resolve additional to a Resolve respecting certain settlers of the public lands passed the twenty fifth day of February 1825 was read 1st + 2nd time + passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill to incorporate the South Parish in the town of Bridgton was read once + Thursday, next week at ten oclock assigned for a second reading.
Bill an additional act to provide for the Education of Youth was read a 1st + 2nd time Thursday (tomorrow) at ten oclock assigned for a third reading.
