Petition of Hiram Belcher + als Proprietors of the centre meeting house in Farmington for an alteration in the mode of collecting taxes, came from the Senate referred to the committee on the incorporation of Parishes + for concurrence and the House concurred.

Mr Ingalls of Bridgton has leave of absence after Monday next during the remainder of the week.

Resolve in favor of the town of Steuben, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill in addition to an act entitled an act regulating the selection, empannelling and service of Jurors, was called up and on motion referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

The order of this House referring to the Judiciary the subject of enquiring into the expediency of establishing by law a Salary for Sheriffs +c of the seventh inst came back from the Senate nonconcurred, and the subject matter thereof referred to Messrs Megquier + Miller with such as the House may join. The House concurred + Messrs Jewett of Bowdoinham, Clark of Limington + Ingalls of Bridgton were joined.

Resolve in favor of Thompson Pond Plantation, reported by the committee of finance on the petition of William Maxwell, was read once, and tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a second reading.

Resolve relating to the State arsenal, reported by a committee of this House, was read once + tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a second reading.

Report on the petition of Benjamin Woodbury +al granting leave for a Bill, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House assigned Tuesday 29th instant at ten oclock to take up the consideration of the subject.
