5 [Messenger chosen] On motion by Mr Weston Ordered that the Senate now proceed to the choice of a Messenger. Messrs Weston Sweat and Miller appointed a Committee to receive sort and count the votes reported that the whole number of votes given was seventeen all of which were for John Merrill who was declared elected
