155 Bill in addition to an act entitled an act fo incorporating certain persons for building a Bridge across Back Cove between Portland and Falmouth was read a 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Petition of Joseph Whitney that the grant of land too Hopkins Academy may be located to him, was read and referred to the Committee on State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to prevent frauds in the business of Banks & of public offices and trusts - was read a 1st&2d time and refused a 3d reading.

Report on petition of Joseph Dyer and others, granting leave for a Bill, came from the senate, accepted for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Bill authorizing towns to assess a tax on the owners of Dogs - was read a 1st & 2nd time & refused a 3d reading.

Bill to incorporate certain persons for the purpose of erecting a toll Bridge across Eastern River, was read & referred to the next Legislature in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill set off certain tracts of land and certain persons with their estates from the town of Shapleigh and to annex the same to the town of Lebanon, was read a 1st&2nd time and tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill in addition to an Act for the relief of School districts in the towns of Freeman & Phillips, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill to incorporate the Portland Female Charitable Society, was read a 1st&2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Canton Pooint Bridge, was read a 1st&2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
