73. A communication was received from Amos Nichols Esquire Secretary of State transmitting the several Banks Returns made to his office since the meeting of the last Legislature and 300 copies were ordered to be printed in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of Winborn A Swett & als of Milo for a grant of Land was read & referred to the Committee on State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Isaac Hodson & als for the reversal of the sentence of a Court Martial passed upon Lr John Reynolds, was read & referred to the committee on Militia & Military affairs. Sent up for concurrence

Resolve respecting depredations on the public lands, being reported with amendments which were adopted, passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill in addition to an act entitled an act concerning Registers of Deeds being reported with amendments which were adopted, and further amendments being made, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

Bill regulating the payment of duties on Commissions, was read a 2d time & passage refused. - return of House 131 - Mr Shaw moved a reconsideration of the last vote and the House assigned Tuesday next to consider the motion.

Ordered that Messrs White of Monmouth, Fogg of Montville and Parsons of Cornville be a committee to enquire what further provisions are necessary if any for the payment of costs in criminal prosecutions, with leave to report by Bill & - read & passed.

Ordered that Messrs Talbot of Machias, Stinson of Deer Isla & Pease of Cornish be a committee to enquire what, if any alterations or additions are necessary to the act incorporating the East River Sluice Company - read & passed.
