 Senate January 26 1824
[Petition referred] Petition of Aaron Parker for a New Trial was read and referred to the Committee on New Trials. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.
[Bills passed] Mr. Witham from the Committee on Engrossed Bills, reported a Bill to incorporate the Trustees of the funds of the first Baptist Society in Surry; and Bill to incorporate the proprietors of Eastmeeting House in Machias, to be truly copied, and they were severally passed to be enacted.
[Report] Mr. McDonald from the Committee appointed to enquire what compensation ought to be allowed to the Committee appointed under Resolve of the Legislature, to purchase a site for a State Prison, reported a [Resolves] Resolve in favour of Daniel Rose and others, which was read once, and committed, and tomorrow at 10 O'clock assigned for 2nd Reading.
Resolve on the petition of Levi Thaxter which had been passed to be engrossed and sent down for concurrence, came up concurred.
On motion of Mr. Usher ordered that Messrs. Dennet [Dennett] and Miller be a Committee with such as the House may join to take into consideration the following Petitions and Remonstrances relative to the formation and annexation of Counties within
