[1824] [January 22] [Reports on Petitions] Mr. Small from the Committee on the Petition of John Haws and others, reported that the Petitioners cause an attested Copy of their Petition with this order thereon to be published in the Hancock Gazette and Penobscot Advertiser printed at Belfast three weeks successively, the last publication to be sixty days at least before the first Wednesday of the first session of the next Legislature. Read, accepted, and sent down for concurrence.

Mr. Whitney from the Committee on the Petition of Joseph Keith and others, reported that they have leave to bring in a Bill. Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

Mr. Whitney from the Committee on the Petition of Lebbeus Bailey and others, reported that the Petitioners have leave to bring in a Bill. Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

Mr. Wilkins from the Committee on the Petition of Samuel Haley, reported that the same be referred to the next Legislature. Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Committee on the expediency of appropriating Public Lands] Mr. Dunlap from the Committee appointed to consider the expediency of appropriating public lands for the benefit of Schools, in such towns as have not already such appropriations, reported that it is inexpedient to take any order on the subject. Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.
