 [January 9] That the whole number in the County of Oxford, is 1524 votes necessary to constitute an election 763 "
[Oxford] Samuel Small Esq. has 1402 " James Steel Esq. " 1283 " and are elected.
[Somerset] That in the County of Somerset the whole number of Votes, is 1638 Votes necessary to constitute an election 820 "
In this County there is no choice.
John Read Esq. has 626 Votes Thomas Flint Esq. " 550 " and the severally have the highest number of votes among the persons voted for, and are the Constitutional Candidates to supply the vacancy.
[Penobscot] That in the County of Penobscot the whole number of Votes, is 1389 Votes necessary to constitute an election 695 "
Daniel Wilkins Esq. has 856 " and is elected.
Your Committee have rejected the Votes in the town of Elliot in the County of York, because the Copy of the list of persons voted for and of the votes, does not appear to be signed by the Selectmen thereof, but by one Selectman only.
They have rejected the Votes of Harpswell in the County of Cumberland, it not appearing how many votes were given for each Candidate.
