Met according to adjournment - Journal read.
On motion of Mr Mace, Ordered, that the several ordained ministers of Portland be requested to officiate as Chaplains to this House, in rotation according to seniority.
[Committee to notify them.] Ordered, that Messrs Mace, Crowell of Whitefield and Cobb of Durham be a committee to wait on the several ordained ministers aforesaid and communicate the request contained in the preceeding order.
Report of Committee on Rules & Orders.]
Mr Lewis from the committee appointed yesterday to report rules and orders of proceeding for this House made a report of the code adopted by the late House with amendments - which was read and accepted.
whereupon on motion
[300 copies to be painted] Ordered that the Clerk procure three hundred copies to be printed for the use of the members
On motion of Mr Hammond,
[committee to determine what assistants &c are necessary] Ordered that a committee be appointed to consider and report what further officers, assistant officers, or attendants it may be expedient to appoint, to facilitate the business of this House.
Ordered that Messrs Hammond, Adams of Cherryfield and Riggs be the committee.
[Senatorial votes] A report came down from the Senate, upon the return of votes given in by the inhabitants of the several Senatorial districts in the State for Senators
