Ordered, that the rules and orders established by the late House of Representatives, be deemed & taken to be the rules and orders of proceeding to be observed in this House, until a revision or alteration of the same shall take place.
[Committee on Elections app'd] Ordered that Messrs Williams of Augusta, Dunlap of Brunswick, Hayes of South Berwick, Quinnam of Wiscasset and Millikin of Frankfort be a Standing Committee on Elections.
[Committee to report Rules and Orders.] on motion of Mr. Virgin,
Ordered, that Messrs Lweis of Gorham, Nowell of Kennebunkport and Adams of Portland be a committee to report a code of rules and orders of proceeding for the government of this House.
[Organization of the Senate.] Mr McDonald, came from the Senate with a message to inform this House of the organization of that body by the election of Daniel Rose, Esq. President and William B Sewall Esq. Secretary; that Mr. Rose had left the board to officiate as Governor until the Governor elect should be qualified, and
