A message was received from the House of Representatives that that Body had concurred with the Senate in the foregoing proposition.

On motion of Mr Woodbury, Ordered, that the Secretary of State be directed to lay before this Board the return of votes given in, in the town of Mr. Desert, relating to the Shire town of the County of Hancock if the same has been made to his office.

In convention.

The two Houses, arguably to proposition, met in Convention for the purpose of qualifying Councilors elect. Mr Knowlton of Montville of the House was charged with a message, informing William Dunn, Joseph Johnson, Josiah Merrow, Samuel Veazie and David W. Lothrop that the two House of the Legislature have met in Convention and are ready to administer to them the necessary oaths to qualify them to en- upon the discharge of their official duties. Whereupon, William Dunn, Joseph Johnson, Josiah Merrow, Samuel Veazie and David W. Lothrop, came in and before the President of the Convention, in presence of both Houses of the Legislature, took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify
