Clerks, as required by the Constitution (signed) Alderman of the City of Portland "Ph. Greely" "Chs. M. Davis" "J.B. Cahoons "Uml J. Vaughan "Asa Hanson" "Attest, Joseph Pope, City Clerk."

It appears by the copy of the return referred to, as well as by the preceding certificate, that that return was not signed by the Warden of the "Island Ward" but was attested on the inside as well as on the outside by the Clerk of said Ward. These votes were counted by the Committee. In the active of the Committee upon the cases referred to, where a construction of the Constitution was to be given, the Committee were divided in opinion, but a majority decided as detailed above. Which report was read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

On motion of Mr Soule, Ordered, that Messrs Soule, Ham and J.R. Redman, with such as the House may join be a Committee to wait on RObert P. Dunlap and inform him that he has been elected by the people Governor of the State of Maine for the current political year, and that the two Houses of the Legislature are ready to convene in the Representatives Chamber, that in their presence, he may take and subscribe the oaths of Office required by the Constitution. Read and passed, sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred and Messrs Redington
