On the question of adopting the amendments proposed by Mr. McIntire of Parsonsfield to the Bill entitled "An Act further regulating, Banks and Banking." providing" that the several Acts of incorporation of Banks in this State be so far altered and amended, that Banks shall not be permitted to issue any bill of a denomination less than three dollars, nor any bill of a denomination between five and ten, or ten and twenty dollars from and after the passage of this Act, nor shall they issue any bill of a denomination less than five dollars from and after the first day of June next. And the same prohibition shall extend to all Banks hereafter to be incorporated in this State."
