Bill - An Act additional to an act to organize govern & discipline the Militia of this State, was read a 1st & 2d time & Tuesday next at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

On motion by Mr Ames of Hermon Ordered That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of passing a law to impose a penalty on measurers of Wood & Bark for neglecting to give a certificate, or comply with and of the requirements of law - Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Joel C. Virgin & others - - Asa Cummings & others - in favor of the petition of Moses Mason & others was read & referred to the Committee on Rail Roads & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve authorizing an apportionment & distribution of the School fund was read a second time and ordered to lie on the table.

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill - An Act to established the Piscataqua Ferry Company which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence

The same Committee reported as truly engrossed Resolve in favor of William Jordan Jun which was finally passed - and the question was decided by yeas & nays as follows yeas 111 nays 42 [ see appendix page 51. ] Sent up for concurrence - And the House adjourned
