[86] number given in was one hundred & ninety three - necessary to constitute an election ninety seven - Asa Redington Junior had one hundred and eighty six and he was declared elected

A communication from the Secretary for the Board of Internal Improvements transmitting the Report of the doings of said Board since its organization together with certain plans & estimates therein referred to came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Canals & Rail Roads - and the House concurred.

Resolve requiring a return of the names of Stockholders in the Banks in this state, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Buxton of North Yarmouth Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of making such alterations if any as may appear necessary in the law relative to County Commissioners. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Hamlin of Hampden Ordered that the Committee on Literature &c be instructed to inquire & ascertain if the Commissioners appointed under the Resolve of March 2 1833 for the improvement of Colleges of Maine have discharge of the duty assigned them by said resolve and if said board of Commissioners have not performed their said duty that said Committee be further instructed to enquire into the expediency of directing said board of Commissioners to make the investigation contemplated in said resolve & report to the next Legislature. Sent up for concurrence.
