[79] A communication from the Secretary of State transmitting the Returns of Inspectors of Fish came from the Senate referred to the Committee on Interior Fisheries for concurrence and the House concurred.

Bill to regulate the execution of the punishment of death, reported in a new draft, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence

Message from the Governor dated Jany 18th 1836 [see appendix page 14.] transmitting the Report of Lt Col Long of the Topographical Engineers, on a Reconnaissance for a Rail Road from the coast of Maine to Quebec &c was read & 3000 copies of the same with the accompanying documents ordered in concurrence with the Senate to be printed for the use of the members.

Petition of Sewall Cram referred in this House yesterday to a joint select committee, came from the Senate nonconcurred & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary and the House agreed thereto.


Bills - An act providing for the investment of certain Funds - -- relative to appropriations of money - severally came from the Senate referred to Messrs Jewett, Benson & Fish with such as the House may join & the House concurred & joined Messrs Steward of Anson, Adams of Lincoln, Stanley of Dixfield, Lord of Buxton, Sproul of Waldoboro, Richardson of Portland and Millikin of Lincolnville.

Notice was ordered on the petition of John B Morgan & others - sent up for concurrence.
