for the use of the House the expense to be charged to the State. Read & passed.

On motion by Mr Perkins of Kennebunkport,

Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of punishing by fine or otherwise, Town & Plantation Clerks in every case in which said clerks are delinquent in not causing the list of votes in their respective towns for Governor or Senators of this state or Representatives to Congress to be returned to the Secretaries office as prescribed by the Constitution and laws of this State. Sent up for concurrence.
