On motion of Mr. Holmes of Alfred Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of Modifying the criminal Jurisdiction of the courts and otherwise revising and altering the criminal law (unreadable word) for con.

On motion by the same Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into expediency or increasing the number of the Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court and Court of Common Pleas. Lent up for Concurrence.

On motion be Mr. Wells of Hallowell Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of fixing by law the period for the execution of criminals condemned to death, not exceeding one year from the time of (unreadable word) sentencing upon them.
