Thursday January 7 1836.

Met according to adjournment.

The committee to whom the subject was referred yesterday, reported that they had agreed with Edward St John Neally of Thomaston to perform the duties of Assistant Clerk the present session at the rate of two dollars per day and the report was accepted.

The speaker announced the appointment of Monitors as follows:

For the 1st Division Mr. Chase of York 2d Soule Freeport 3d Lippincot Columbia 4th Fletcher Thomaston 5th O'Brien Warren 6th Lurvey Woodstock

The Committee to which the subject was referred yesterday, reported that they had agreed with GIlman Turner to perform the duties of Watch to the State House at the rate of one dollar each night - and the report was accepted.


The committee to which the subject was referred yesterday reported that they had contracted with Thomas Baker to perform the duties of Messenger for the current political year at the rate of two dollars per day for his own services and one dollar per day each for a Page and such other assistants by him necessarily employed and the report was accepted.


Ordered on motion of Mr. Holmes of Alfred that the House hold an afternoon session this day, to commence at half past two o'clock..
