Petition of William Vance and others,

praying for a Bank and High School at Readfield came up from the House referred to the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions. the Senate reconsider their vote of the 13th inst. referring said petition to the Committee on Banks and Banking and refer the same to the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, in concurrence.

Petition of Abel Chapman Jt. praying for pecuniary aid in consequence of wounds received while doing military duty, came up from the House of Representatives, referred to the Committee on Claims. The Senate nonconcur the House in their reference, and refer the same to the Committee on Military Pensions. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Petition of Nancy Brown, praying to hold land in severally, came up from the House of Representatives, referred to a Joint Select Committee, consisting, on the part of the House, of Messrs. Judkins of Houlton, Humphrey of Gray, Wells of Wells, Richards of Ellsworth and Ames of Prospect with such as the Senate may join Read and concurred and Messrs. Littlefield and J. Redman are joined.
