Balch, not "Balsh" as given in the title of this .pdf document.  Dr. Horatio Gates Balch (1777-1849) was born in Danvers, MA, and became an early and prominent citizen of Lubec, ME.  He was elected from Lubec to the new Maine House of Representatives in 1820.  In 1832 he was involved in the founding of a lead mining company in Lubec, which remained active until at least the Civil War.
