John Nelson (half breed) & John Barber (do) went to war and one of the other Lolas. Cavalry, infantry and artillery were all represented by volunteers.

From some source unknown, I picked up the following scrap, written on the back of an old envelope (prob. fr Kilby's History of Eastport) " TIKN (Dream) SOKEPSN (Sockabesin)

Dr. Joe Soccabesin always carried a cane with a basket hilt like a sword hilt (see elsewhere) {"He had been to see the president; wore [two underlined] an extraordinary coat." Dr. Joe Socarbesin the man who wanted a receipt fr. Johnson because he didnt want to hunt all round over Hell to find Squire Johnson.}

Francis Soccabesin was brother of the above.

Franceway Peneas (see elsewhere) was also called Brassway Peneas or Placeway Penease. Brasseur Lake is another corruption of the same François
