Tuesday, January 24. 1837.
Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire whether nay, and what alterations are necessary to be made in the law of this State, regulating the sale of spiritous liquors - read and passed in concurrence.
On motion of Mr J.R. Redman
Ordered, that a message be sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a convention of the two Houses, in the Representatives Hall tomorrow at eleven o'clock, A.M. for the purpose of electing a Treasurer of State for the current political year, and requesting the concurrence of the House. Which message was delivered by the Secretary.
A message was received from the House of Representatives, that that Branch had concurred in the foregoing proposition.
On motion of Mr Littlefield,
Ordered, that Messrs. Littlefield, Severance, and J.R. Redman, with such as the House may join, be a Committee to contract with some suitable person to do the State printing for the present year. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and Messrs. Redington of Augusta, Barker of Limerick, Nevers of Sweden, Soule of Freeport, Eaton of Robinston, Carlise of Boothbay and Tibbets of Charleston are joined.
