A: Dementia, incurable
By Dr. Butler:
Q. You say when you were in the room you didn't examine the case at all
A. I made no critical examination any more than I would of any person who would be in a state of profuse ministration
Q. How far would that be necessary
A. Just to open the bed to see what the condition of the person was.
Q. You did that A. Yes sir. My
judgement is that it had not progressed
far enough to discover without a
digital examination.
Q. When you went after Miss. Ham [?]
what did you tell her A. I asked
her to go in and see Mrs. Reed;
that she was sick, flowing, and needed
attention
Q. Did you give her any direction
A. I don't remember that I did. I gave
her directions after we got through the operation
Q. But before Miss. Ham came in did
you give the attendant any directions
A. No, sir
