accustomed to do that.

A. We don't do that. If it is
necessary we call a physician from
outside
Q. Why do you adopt that rule
A. In order to save any reports happening
Q. As a measure of caution
A. Yes sir. I remember a case that we
had where I wanted an examination and
I called for Dr. Briggs in his day, and
he came over and made the necessary
examination. And as I was saying,
I went in with Miss Harris and we
put the woman to bed and removed
the feotus [ fetus ] and all the appendages.
Q. Who performed the operation A. I did
myself.
Q. It was entirely successful was it
A. Yes sir, entirely; no trouble whatever.
